***Πριν απο τον πολεμο, οι Μηλιες, ηταν ενα απο τα πολυ μεγαλα (περιπου 5000 κάτοικοι, σημερα περιπου 640 μονον) και πολυ ανεπτυγμενα κεφαλοχωρια του Πηλιου.
Πληθος καταστηματων γεμιζε την περιοχη της πλατειας και την περιοχη του σιδηροδρομικου σταθμου.
Μεγαλο μερος των κατοικων του ανατολικου Πηλιου διεκινειτο από το τραινο, τον ιστορικό *Μουτζούρη*, προς Τσαγκαραδα ,Μουρεσι,Κισσο κλπ.
Στο τραινο εφερναν ολοι οι παραγωγοι τα μηλα τους κυριως αλλα και ολα τα αλλα προιοντα τους και τα προωθουσαν στον Βολο.

Στις μερες μας, το γραφικό ταξίδι με το τραινο "Μουτζούρη" στις ομορφιές του Πηλίου, ξεκινα απο από τα Άνω Λεχώνια μέχρι τις Μηλιές και πραγματοποιειται Σαββατοκυριακα και καλοκαιρι, πιο συχνα, αλλα μπορει και να μισθωθει απο την Hellenic Train ( λεπτομερειες στο : https://www.hellenictrain.gr/treno-toy-pilioy-mia-mythiki-diadromi ) απο διαφορες ομαδες ανθρωπων για διαφορους σκοπους.
*** Εκτελεση των Μηλιωτων και το Καψιμο του χωριου, στις 4 Οκτωβρη 1943, ΜΝΗΜΕΙΟ Στον Σιδηροδρομικό Σταθμό Μηλεών : Στις 4 Οκτωβρίου 1943, οι Μηλιείς βίωσαν μια από τις πιο τραγικές στιγμές στην ιστορία τους.

***Before the war, Milies(which actually translates into "Apple_Trees"), was one of the largest (about 5000 inhabitants, nowadays, only about 730.. ) and highly developed central villages of Pelion. A multitude of shops filled the area of the square and the area around the train station. A large part of the inhabitants of eastern Pelion traveled by train, the historic "Moutzouris", to Tsangarada, Mouresi, Kissos, etc. All producers brought their apples, mainly, as well as all their other products on the train and promoted them to Volos.

In our days, the picturesque journey by train "Moutzouris" to the beauties of Pelion, starts from Ano Lehonia to Milies and takes place on weekends and in the summer, more frequently, but it can also be hired by Hellenic Train (details at: https://www.hellenictrain.gr/en/pelion-train-mythical-route ) by various groups of people for various purposes.(***Currently non operational, because of several issues on the route, after the September 2023 Daniel Storm and because Trenitalia, the owner of Hellenic Trains, no longer make profits in Greece, -after they have sold to our country all the old and useless Italian Trains...- and they therefore examine the option of selling Hellenic trains again...*** :/ )
